Guest: Jim Curry, brother of painter Robert Curry


Sarah met with Mr. Gehre at the school to discuss the two benches that will also be used as monuments for the project. Mr. Gehre liked the idea of the benches with plaques mounted in the back side. One plaque will tell the history of the Senior Squares and one will be a Thank You for the donators. Mr. Gehre also mentioned that the benches need to be "gifted" to the school so the Senior Squares Project will not be liable for any damages or accidents. The benches will be placed on the grass on concrete pads looking towards the Squares.

The painter will start after May 22. There is a big event at the school on Thursday and Mr. Gehre did not want any obstructions.

Jim Curry, the brother of Robert Curry, the painter, was at the meeting and said the actual sealing, base coat, patterns, paint and sealant (slip resistant) will take approx 4-5 days. We will need help at that time for security.

The painter will also re-seal the squares for us at a charge of $500.00 per year.

The costs:


Painter - $7,260.00
Benches - $2,000.00
Plaques - $3,000 .00


So any of you out there who have pledged money to the project, please send it in now!!!

The balance in the account after a $2000 donation from the class of 1970 is approx. $4,643.17. And we do have the Grant Money coming.

The squares that are still missing are 1974, 1975 and 1978. If we cannot get that information, we will have to use the yearbook cover as the square.

June 14 is the Bill Boyd All Year Party at Sams Town.

Remember: The next Meeting is June 2 at 6:15pm, it will be at the school unless other arrangements are made.
